The Pharmaceutical Sciences Research center (PSRC) initiated its activities in 2006 at the school of pharmacy, Shiraz University of Medical Sciences. The establishment of PSRC was principally approved by Iran Ministry of Health and Medical Education in May 2008 and the center was officially launched in 2011.

Outstanding faculty members and top-class research facilities have made PSRC a unique place to advance research, education and technology. Numerous applied and basic research projects have been conducted in various fields of biotechnology and pharmaceutical sciences, which have been published and presented in prestigious national and international journals and conferences or have been patented.

We cooperate with domestic and worldwide research centers and institutes to foster our scientific community and raise our research impact. Also, we collaborate closely with Biotechnology Incubator of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, located at the school of Pharmacy, to lead translational research and serve as an innovative hub for industrial development of pharmaceutical and biotechnological products.

Our goal is to provide a platform for innovative and translational research in different areas of pharmaceutical sciences including; pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, toxicology, pharmacognosy, traditional Persian medicine, pharmaceutics, clinical pharmacy and emerging sciences and technologies including pharmaceutical biotechnology and nanotechnology.
